For those of you who don’t know, legacy moves are ones that cannot be obtained through evolution or TM. I suppose it makes sense as to why they’re called legacy moves!
Legacy moves in Pokemon Go were available for a limited amount of time. They were around in early game play and during certain events. However, legacy moves seem to offer somewhat of a love/hate relationship to Pokemon Go players.
If you have the legacy move that you want then it’s brilliant. However, if you don’t then it can seem unfair. Those who want to win certain battles may not be able to without a legacy move.
Community Day Legacy Move
In December 2018 there was a Community Weekend. Usually you’ll see Community Days (CD) on Pokemon Go, but this was extended. CD Pokemon across the year could be evolved during this time. This was in order to obtain their special moves.
Currently there is no hard evidence to suggest this will happen again. However, there are some patterns that Niantic seem to show:
- Niantic have often brought back legacy moves
- Potential to unlock CD moves for this year and last year
- 14th and 15th December could be 2-day CD
